
DCCS Noel Genao
Senior Chief Petty Officer Noel Genao is a native of Hoboken, NJ. After graduation from Emerson High school in 1992 he immediately enlisted as a Fireman Recruit and attended recruit training at Great Lakes, Ill.
Upon completion of recruit training, his initial assignment was onboard the USS ESSEX (LHD-2) home ported in San Diego, California, where he was assigned to MP division as a Boiler Technician. After two successful Western Pacific deployments, he struck the damage control rating and advance to Second Class Petty Officer. While assigned to the ESSEX he obtained his Enlisted Surface and Aviation Warfare Specialist qualifications.
In April 1999, he was transferred to the Naval Academy, Annapolis MD as a Engineering staff instructor. Upon completion of Instructor Duty, he reported and graduated from the CBR warfare school in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, and reported to his next command the USS Ponce (LPD-15). During his tour onboard the Ponce, he was selected asAmphibious Group TWO sea Sailor of the Year and later advanced to the rank Chief Petty Officer.
He went on to transfer to the USS Cape St George (CG-71) and assumed the duties as Repair divisions LCPO. While onboard the Cape, he obtained his Engineering Officer of the Watch qualification and was promoted to rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer.
Senior Chief Genao has earned numerous personal and unit awards to include: Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (5 awards), Good Conduct Medal (2 awards).
